(re-post)
July-born, true Moon Child. Tonight is the Full Moon. I will be outdoors ... staring.
In the meantime I got to thinking about what I have written about Moon. This is one.
Moon Madness
That darned fool moon has decided
Without much thought, I am sure,
To relinquish its position,
Ancient, catalytic, secure,
And on the whim of a notion
(I'm pressed to understand why)
Abandon all mood of decorum
And cartwheel about the sky.
I've made several admonitions
And spoken of consequence.
That so far it's seemed to listen
Is my only hope of sense.
Who'd have thought the moon'd go silly
With this awesome precedent.
If sone night it's gone off missing
I'll say I don't know where the fool went!
(from Moon Madness and Other Skywritings, Karen Parker, 1987)

And this is from a blog I posted several years ago.
It's almost a full moon. One of the wonders of Nature is how we can gaze and gaze and gaze at the moon and never tire of it. The same with watching birds. Or water flowing. With the moon, while locking gaze (for, of course, it is looking back) sometimes it occurs to me that it is only a trick of light that makes me see (and think) that the moon is ever less than 'full'. Turning that 'lens of awareness' on my own life is worthwhile.
