A month ago this was the gift.
Today the crow couple flew across and one of them dropped this onto the ground of the patio. One of the men getting out of a truck at the curb said, "One of those crows just dropped that bird!"
I believe the sparrow was a 'found object', not a fresh kill.
They then came down to the ground and accepted the small piece of fish I threw each of them. It has not been my experience that they do this simply to get food. Often I have finished eating when they gift me; today I had not received my lunch yet. I took the sparrow's body home and buried it in the garden.
