The weather forecast for Thursday said flurries might happen and possibly even stay on the ground as snow. So, during a mindful knitting workshop yesterday morning (most worthwhile; email me if you want details and when the next one will occur), I knit up a few scarves and one shawl.
When I got home I put them on the daffodils in the front garden. They looked cute but a bit strange as it was bright and sunny so I took the knitwear off the flowers and came indoors intending to get ready to go out again.
Between putting away the breakfast dishes and changing shoes a rat-a-tat-rat-a-tat sounded on the skylight in the kitchen, the sun disappeared, and within a few minutes the chair on the back deck looked like this.
Well, drat! I wasn't going to go out and try to put scarves and shawl on the flowers in a hail storm; I had my sandals on, for goodness sake.
Instead I sat down with PerCy and emailed relatives back east to inform them about the weather in Victoria - with pictures as proof - to show them what we have to put up with.
By the time I was finished my missives of mercy the sun had come back out, the roofs were steaming as the hail melted, the deck looked like this and I wondered if I should knit cotton sunbonnets for the daffodils.
