For the first eighteen years of my life, meditation was akin to prayer.
Then I was taught to meditate in the Eastern tradition of 'clearing the mind' using posture, breath, mantra.
I found it brought interesting results; being able to pick up on people's thoughts was one of them. But it was the body awareness that kept me exploring the practice across the next forty years.
Then an astounding epiphany occurred. I discovered that if my spine was straight and I did three relaxing breaths and then, instead of trying to 'control the mind' with the mind, but, simply 'inhabited the body' - the meditative process happened automatically and naturally.
It is an ongoing adventure.
In this 'state of grace' or 'experience of the present/now' or 'connectedness' exists the tool with which to focus and become whatever we want to be or do or have. It's all about energy. Resonance.
We truly are the only frontier.
