I didn't know you could use T-pins on fabric! It never would have occurred to me. I use them on soft walls and cork bulletin boards and wide-grained wood and foam etc.
The young clerk in the local fabric store had directed me to the wall of straight pins. I wanted to replace my sad collection of bent and too short and measly-headed and motley'ed pins. The ones on display seemed to be newer versions of my bent, too short etc. pins.
I wanted something strong and long and shiny with heads my eyes could easily see and my fingers easily grip. I wanted ..... my eyebrows shot up ..... there were T pins. In with the straight pins.
The clerk confirmed that they could be used on material; she eyed the fleece fabric I was purchasing and said they would work on that but would make holes in the lighter cloth.
As soon as I got home I found my box of T-pins and tried them out. Fantastic. And they do make holes in the stretchy jersey I got to experiment with as a base for some energy-scrunched cashmere pelts (if this works I'll post about it) but this is only when I double or triple it. Used, as it will be, in a single layer, the holes stretch back into the material.
The light and my energy are setting for the day or I would be T-pinning the energy coatlet together.
It makes me grin to think of the naming of them.... Not straight pins. T - pins. Of course.
