I am a bit - well, I am not sure what - curious? flabbergasted? suspicious? about this small item that appeared in our daily paper on an inside page a few days ago.
Curious because - is this not front page news?! Curious about all the queries a journalist has tattooed on their brain: who found it and when and what kind of "unknown type of human" and what is now being done about it and what on earth does "only distantly related to modern humans" mean and - most of all - are there believed to be descendants of "Woman X" around today and how are they identified. What happened to the answers to all these queries?
Flabbergasted because it was not on the front page.
Which led me to be suspicious and wonder if it was being treated as an early April Fool's Day joke.
I suppose if it was, the punch line will be on April 1. On the front page. Stay tuned.

Thanks to a comment by Linda (Crafty Gardener) I did a google and came up with this
It's no joke.
Hm-m-m did you Google "unknown type of human discovered"? there are some articles about the discovery ... nothing conclusive ... makes you wonder
