At the Cobble Hill Fair I watched a boy of perhaps ten or eleven watching a woman weave on a Knitters loom. He was mesmerized. I was mesmerized! She was using a combination of yarns for the warp and the weft and the result was stunning.
Finally he asked the woman how much such a loom cost and when she mentioned dollars into the hundreds he looked disappointed.
We all got to chatting and when the loom was 'broken down' into its components of frame and heddle and how they could be obtained separately and improvised - that young man brightened considerably. I suspect he was weaving not long after.
Thank goodness for innovation!
I think this frame is for some sort of needlework (I got it at a church sale) ; it works fine here for supporting the edges of the loom.
The piece got hung from the hummingbird feeder pole off the deck.
