Expanding on the practice of using plants as accessories. And what a splendid practice it is!
A felted 'tiffin' bag hosts not the midday meal but opening daffodils. They are not going from the store to home: no, they are going from home to the post office, the bakery and the bank, the library etc. and back home again.
They are quite joyful company.
This is what the scented bouquet from last summer looks like now in its totally dried state.
Usually it would be crushed into bits, staining the fingers with fragrance during the process, and then added to the yearly pot pourri collection, but this has been pinned onto a hat. It will likely fall apart during the wearing, leaving a trail of scent across the trekking of the day
These winter pansies survived the couple of weeks of snow but were drooped and a bit tattered. They perked up a bit in a pocket.
A corner of this scarf got knotted into a pouch, the carnation put into one of those nifty containers that will hold water and support a flower's stem, the 'vase' concealed in the pouch with an elastic hair band and the scarf is now ready for a person to wear it on an outing.
This is what the container looks like and it is the same kind as used in the next.....
A shawl with the same idea as the scarf, a corner folded into a pocket and the flower invited along.
And I am reminded of the wearable garden I planted.....and wore and watched grow and grow...
