If you are not aware of the importance of proper breathing - do look into it. It is a powerful tool for improving health on all levels. And it is amazing how something so necessary for survival can get so out of whack. We tend to hold our breath when we are excited, nervous, concentrating, scared, eating, exercising etc.
If you already are aware of the role of breath, the challenge is to check that the 'tool' is being used. There are degrees of 'breath holding' , degrees of deep diaphragm versus shallow chest breathing. An inked spot on hand is a reminder to see if the shoulders have crept up toward the ears, if the toes are curled, if the teeth are clenched, if the vision is fuzzy, if the body feels all over tense, or unaccountably tired etc. The sudden easing of any of these symptoms with simply a few effective breaths gives such surprising relief and motivation to - do it again, keep doing it.
Every bodily system, digestion, cognition, mobility......... is affected by the breath. You draw the conclusion. Let the breath flow..........
