Toothpowder is making a comeback. It's not actually on the shelves yet but I've been asking Colgate for years to bring back that perky red and white tin of toothpowder that most of us Baby Boomers can relate to and I imagine enough time has now gone by for them to check into this and decide it's a worthwhile idea. (If you are not a Baby Boomer experienced in the great aspects of toothpowder - or need to be reminded - mix some baking soda with a bit of salt and a dash or two of cloves and use this instead of paste: the teeth feel truly cleaned, the mouth fresh: toothpaste then tastes like cloying candy).
Now here is how to use toothpowder. Wet toothbrush. Pour out about half a teaspoon of powder on palm of hand. Smoosh up with wet toothbrush. (As a kid I would then lick up any residue from my hand). Brush teeth and tongue. Smile.
