I design clothing for nature, human and otherwise. I think of the body as a geometric space and drape the fabric to produce a garment that embraces both the shape and the fluidity of the form. When faced with the adventure of designing a nesting box for the orchard mason bee that satisfied function and beauty I wondered if the premise for cothing design would work. So I am presently playing with this idea, being fascinated by books in the 721 section of the library, flying from insects to humans and imagining a house that would start as the concept of a living space inviting definition. Often 'new' is simply looking at something from a different 'direction'. A minor tweak may lead to a major eureka. And what fun in the process. (The bees project is involving rolling paper into tubes, wandering thoughtfully through woods and thrift stores and building centers and my kitchen staring at anything that might charmingly contain these tubes)
