Take your knitting out in public and knit, knit, knit. Have spare wool and needles available. Be available to teach those who stop to chat, who are drawn to the rhythm of this most worthwhile action of simply knit one, purl one. Therapeutic. Productive. Beauty and function.

Stage is set...

Chester the squirrel has claimed his site. I did not name him. He 'told' me his name. I asked what he would like to be called and then 'listened'. The reply came and I interpreted it as Chipper and tried it out on him. It wasn't right. Waited a bit and listened some more. Chester. That was right. It's a matter of taking what comes and putting into letters and words and sounds what I can deal with and understand with a human tongue and language. And sending this back in the universal communication for approval.

Milestone

Mother has died. Whew and wow - with the occasional waaaa's. As expected, nothing is quite like one expects.

Follow Up to Let 'Em Be

Good heavens - the impact of thoughts! The little girl I spoke of yesterday who has, for months, seemed stuck in this conflict with her mother as to saying hello to me, this morning skipped by several feet in front of her mom (up until now she has been held by the hand) and gave me a friendly smile and greeting. I hope my shock was internal and that I mirrored only delight. Life is so fascinating!

Let 'Em Be, Let 'Em Be!

As I sit on the deli patio having my breakfast each morning parents walk by with their kids to school. One mother has two lively daughters who daily call out a cheery “hello” to me. This happened spontaneously the first time and has continued as such. In contrast another little girl was prompted to “say hello to the lady” and did so but it wasn’t her idea and so has become a contest of wills. You can feel the tension as they approach. Mom has seen the other two so happily interactive and social and obviously wants this for her little girl. Now the child either pointedly ignores me or grins woodenly. Attempts to force behaviour seldom bring about the desired response. It’s sad. The intent is great but the result goes awry and compounds.

Not By Chance

Every being we encounter, every person, every cat, every bird, every moth, every city, every house, perhaps every rock, is not a chance meeting: there is a reason. Some are obvious, we form a relationship and feel the ‘meant to be’. Considering how many birds and rocks and people we come into contact with over a lifetime the majority of these are not obvious. But the more you fine tune on this journey, the more the sense of it all becomes apparent.

It isn’t that you have to figure out the reason, the awareness of such is enough. It’s an exchange of energy, and for this one must be ‘open’. Awareness is a tool to ‘opening’.
